Dr. Sanjukta Parashar is an IPS officer of 2006 Batch from Assam. She is best known for being first women IPS officer from Assam.

Sanjukta was born on 3rd of October 1979 in Assam, India. Her father’s name is Dulal Chandra Barua who is the Engineer of Irrigation Department in Assam and her mother’s name is Meena Devi who is Assam health servicewomen. She is married with Puru Gupta (IAS) in 2008. She has a son Her zodiac sign is Libra. She belongs to a Brahmin Hindus family. Her hobbies are Writting, Reading and Running.
EDUCATION
Sanjukta completed her schooling from Holy Child School Guwahati and Army School Narangi. Then , she completed her bachelor’s degree from Indraprastha College for Women in New Delhi Jawahar Nehru University (JNU). She completed master’s in Political Science. Her higher qualification is M.Phil and Ph.D. .
CAREER
Sanjukta has secured 85th All India Rank. Rather of joining IAS she broke all taboos and joined Indian Police Services. She was first posted as the Assistant Commandant of Makum in 2008 and in her next designation, she has taken the responsibility of controlling the encounter between Bodo and illegal Bangladeshi militants. In just 15 months, she arrested around 64 militants and seized numerous arms and illegal weapons.
