Genevieve’s father, Hameed Jaffrey, is a Muslim from Lucknow and the brother of veteran British-Indian actor Saeed Jaffrey.
Hameed divorced her first husband, Valerie, and married veteran Indian actor Ashok Kumar’s daughter, Bharati Jaffrey, an Indian actress and theatre personality.
