Akira Armstrong is an American professional dancer choreographer. She is best known for participating in dance reality show Dance 100.
ABOUT
When Akira was 8 years old, a Bronze, New York native, was passionate about dance and vocal training since childhood. She trained hardly at Mind-Builders Creative Arts center and after that went on to attend the Alvin Ailey School. She has the privilege to travel across the world with many dance companies. Akira even presented at the Cosmo Theater in Vienna, Austria. An incredible opportunity arose for her when she made her launch as a principal dancer in Beyonce’s videos, Greenlight and Get Me Bodied. Things only got better from then; in 2008, she started her own dance company
Pretty BIG Movement, which focuses on plus size artists and dancers. Salt-N-pepw enlisted her as their own makeup artist, allowing her to travel with them worldwide, in 2011. She has become a published model being presented in such magazines as Luxekurve and Vogue.
ABOUT THE DANCE 100
Netflix’s highly anticipated Dance 100 series is set to premiere on Friday, 17th of March 2023, at 3 am ET/ 2 am CT. These dancers will conflict it out for a grand prize of $100,00. The show promises an exciting format unlike any other reality television competition seen so far, and features right dancers who have shared the stage with artists from Rihanna and Kelly Clarkson to Ricky Martin, Cardi B, Jennifer Lopez, Lizzie, and Missy Elliot.
