EDUCATION

Kamal Kishore Pant earned his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur in 1997. Notably, in October 2022, he assumed the role of Director at the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, a position that reflects his leadership and academic prowess.

CAREER

Throughout his illustrious career, Professor Pant has held various significant positions within the academic community. He served as the Petrotech Chair and the Federation of Indian Petroleum Industries (FIPI) Chair Professor. Furthermore, he took on responsibilities as the Chairman of GATE & JAM, oversaw library affairs, led the Department of Chemical Engineering, and served as the Dean of Faculty at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi.

Professor Pant’s academic influence extends beyond India’s borders, as he holds the status of Adjunct Faculty at the University of Saskatchewan in Canada. His international collaboration underscores his commitment to global academic and research networks.

His research interests span a wide array of cutting-edge technologies of both national and international importance. These include hydrocarbon conversion processes, biomass conversion, and biofuel production, which are vital for sustainable energy solutions. Additionally, he delves into CO2 conversion technologies, addressing pressing environmental concerns. Furthermore, Professor Pant focuses on innovative approaches to e-waste and plastic management, aligning his work with critical issues facing society.

In recognition of his outstanding contributions to academia and research, Professor Kamal Kishore Pant has been honored as a Fellow of several prestigious national and international academies.
