Kamal Kishore Pant earned his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur in 1997. Notably, in October 2022, he assumed the role of Director at the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, a position that reflects his leadership and academic prowess.

He served as the Petrotech Chair and the Federation of Indian Petroleum Industries (FIPI) Chair Professor.
