CAREER
Ravi Singh has been Shah Rukh Khan’s bodyguard for over a decade. After Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in the Mumbai cruise drug case in 2021, Ravi was frequently seen accompanying Shah Rukh Khan and his manager Pooja Dadlani to the sessions court in Mumbai to attend hearings on Aryan’s bail plea.
Ravi Singh escorted Aryan Khan back to Mannat, Shah Rukh Khan’s residence, on 30 October 2022, after he was released from the Arthur Road Jail in Mumbai. Following Aryan’s release in October 2021, Shah Rukh Khan announced that he is looking for a new bodyguard for himself, so he appointed Ravi as Aryan’s bodyguard.
CONTROVERSIES
Ravi Singh was arrested in 2014 by the Bandra Kurla Police Station in Mumbai after he pushed a Marathi actress named Sharvani during an event while attempting to manage the crowd. Because of the push, the actress fell to the ground. Despite having an all-access pass, Ravi Singh reportedly refused to let the actress enter the backstage area where Shah Rukh Khan was present. However, the police did not file a FIR against Ravi and instead issued him a warning. Sharvani, according to a close aide to Shah Rukh Khan, was the one who misbehaved with Ravi Singh.
After receiving intelligence from the Income Tax Air Intelligence Unit, the Customs Department detained Ravi Singh at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in November 2022, while he was returning to India from Dubai with Shah Rukh Khan. According to a Customs Department official, Ravi Singh was carrying a few luxury watches worth Rs 17.86 lakhs with him. Ravi was allowed to leave the airport after paying a customs duty of Rs 6.88 lakhs. “SRK and his team arrived at the GA terminal around 12.30 pm,” a Customs official said during an interview. Unlike the T2 terminal, which has color-coded channels for different types of passengers and duty-related screenings, the GA terminal does not have separate classifications. So the entire team was carrying 6-7 bags that were screened by security, as well as several watch winders (specialised cases used for luxury watches) and one Apple watch for which they didn’t have receipts because they declared these to be gifts. We looked up the prices of these items on the internet and determined that the total cost was Rs 17.86 lakhs. Ravi Singh, a member of SRK’s security team (Ravi is Shah Rukh Khan’s trusted bodyguard), was escorted to Terminal 2 with one bag containing goods for duty payment and one customs officer.

Earlier, several media outlets reported that the Customs Department had arrested Shah Rukh Khan for the watches; however, a Customs official revealed that it was his bodyguard who was detained, not Shah Rukh Khan.
