CAREER
If he had not been an entertainer, he would surely have played public or international cricket. After Ajay Padhye concluded his education at SIES School in Matunga, he enrolled in Jhunjhunwala College in Ghatkopar because he wanted to play for the school team and was encouraged to do so by his cricket coach, Deepak Murekar of Shivaji Park Gymkhana. Ajay had played cricket alongside legends such as Sachin Tendulkar and Vinod Kambli, and had even been to Nairobi on a trade tour to play U-19 cricket.
Ajay had attended an acting retreat studio while still in school and was trained at ARTS by Vinayak Padwal and Suresh Vaidya. Following college, Ajay got the opportunity to work in a few test plays while doing his MBA, which pushed him to continue working on stage. His initial expert duty was in Meena Naik’s play ‘Makada Hoop!’ which was likewise played in Hindi with the title “Bandar Tere Peeche Kalandar”. This drama was performed all around India, notably at NSD in Delhi. Additionally, this bolstered Ajay’s assurance, after which he joined the Yatri Group and appeared in various English and Hindi plays. At the same time, he furthermore discovered work in Hindi serials as waghdhare Rajan’s “Do Aur Do Paanch” and “Didi Ka Dulha” just as Anand Mahendroo’s “Idhar-Udhar”. He has recently appeared in the Hindi serials ‘Hatim’ and ‘Mahadev’ in order to get greater recognition.
Ajay had also made his debut in Hindi films, in ‘Dhoom’ part 1, when he played Uday Chopra’s friend. In any event, he is now well on his way to establishing himself as a Marathi cinema entertainer.
