INCIDENT
On Monday, Anmol’s heart, liver, two kidneys, eyes, and skin were given to patients in Bhopal, Indore, and Ahmedabad.
“On November 17, 2022, Anmol was involved in a car accident and suffered multiple head injuries.” As a result, he was ruled brain dead.
“His family members then opted to donate his organs and give eight people new lives,” said Subodh Varshney, Medical Director of Siddhanta Hospital in Bhopal.
He stated the authorities were informed, and the patient’s heart, liver, and kidneys were taken between 9 and 11 a.m.
Anmol was a young man, and his organs are in excellent shape, according to Sunil Rai, counsellor of the Bhopal Organ Donation Society.
THREE GREEN CORRIDORS HAVE BEEN CREATED
Simultaneously, three green pathways were established in the city on Monday to transport three important organs for transplantation to Gujarat, Indore, and a local hospital, according to an official.
A green corridor was built to transport the heart to the airport, where it was flown to Ahmedabad, another to transport the liver to Indore, and a third to transport a kidney to a small private hospital. While the liver transplant was taking place in Indore, the remaining transplants were completed satisfactorily, according to Dr. Varshney.
According to experts, this was the first time in Bhopal that three green lanes were built to transport harvested organs for transplant.
The police, in collaboration with other agencies, clear vehicular traffic ahead of ambulances transporting organs using green corridors.
