Aparna Krishnan

Aparna Krishnan, born in 1990 in Kochi, Kerala, is the wife of Rohan Murty, who is the son of N. R. Narayana Murthy, co-founder of Infosys, and Sudha Murthy, co-founder of Infosys Foundation.

PERSONAL INFORMATION

Coming from a South-Indian family, Aparna’s father, K R Krishnan, is a retired Indian Navy officer, and her mother, Savithri Krishnan, is a retired SBI employee. She has an elder sister named Prasanna Krishnan, who is married to Kartik Hosanagar, a technology professor at the Wharton School in the US. Aparna and Rohan first met through a mutual friend, and after dating for three years, they tied the knot on 2 December 2019. Rohan was previously married to Lakshmi Venu, the daughter of the Chairman of TVS Motors.

Their wedding ceremony followed traditional South-Indian customs and took place at ITC Gardenia in Bengaluru. The event was attended by notable individuals such as Nandan Nilekani, Kris Gopalakrishnan, SD Shibulal, and K Dinesh, who are co-founders of Infosys. Prominent guests like Vallabh Bhanshali, Ashank Desai, Manjul Bhargava, and Prakash Padukone were also present. The renowned Carnatic vocalist, Bombay Jayashree, graced the occasion with her mesmerizing performance.

EDUCATION

Aparna completed her schooling at Naval Public School and Chinmaya Vidyalaya in Kochi. She then pursued her education in Canada, where she attended Pearson College UWC and obtained a diploma in International Baccalaureate, receiving a scholarship from the institution. Subsequently, she pursued further studies at the London School of Economics and Political Science in England. Aparna graduated with a degree in economics from Dartmouth College in the United States.

CAREER

During her college years, Aparna gained work experience as a summer analyst at Goldman Sachs and Roc Capital Management. After graduating in 2012, she joined McKinsey & Company in Bangalore as a business analyst. In 2014, she transitioned to the role of an investment analyst at Sequoia Capital. Later, she served as an assistant vice-president at Craftsvilla in Mumbai for nearly a year. Following this, Aparna became an engagement manager at Soroco India Private Limited in Bengaluru. It is worth noting that N. R. Narayana Murthy, the co-founder of Infosys, founded Soroco India Private Limited in 2004.
