CAREER

Caesar Sengupta oversaw Google’s efforts to develop cutting-edge, practical solutions for emerging internet users all around the world while serving as Vice President and General Manager of Payments & the Next Billion Users initiative at Google.

Caesar is passionate about using technology to address the most difficult issues of the day. In an effort to facilitate quicker, simpler, and more secure payments, his team introduced Google Pay in 2015. Over 150 million people use Google Pay each month across 30 countries. He also served as the director of Google’s Next Billion Users Initiative, where his team was in charge of developing tools and products including Files, Camera Go, and Kormo Jobs that promote more equitable access to the internet. Additionally, they collaborate with groups across Google to improve the usability of key services like Search, YouTube, and Android for the Next Billion Users.

He has overseen numerous Google acquisitions and strategic investments during the course of his time there. Startups GoJek, located in Indonesia, and Glance, Dunzo, and Reliance, based in India, were among the recipients of recent strategic investments. He was also a key contributor to the creation and leadership of the ChromeOS team, which created the world’s #2 operating system for Chromebooks.
