ABOUT

Originally hailing from Indore, Chandrika is actively documenting her struggle against bureaucratic forces threatening her business. Her pushcart, named Mumbai ka famous Vada Pav (The Authentic Vada Pav), stands outside Keshav Mahavidyalaya, attracting support from an Instagram-driven patronage.

For many, Chandrika symbolizes courage and resilience as she fights to keep her business afloat amidst the looming threat of closure. Despite standing up to authorities to support her family, which includes her husband Yash Gera and child, she has had to relocate her stall. However, this move has had minimal impact on the Gera couple’s earnings, given the increasing popularity of their Vada Pav business, largely attributed to Chandrika’s indomitable spirit.

Chandrika’s life has been marked by struggle, having lost her parents at a young age and subsequently relocating to Delhi for survival. Starting as an employee at Haldiram’s, she faced adversity when her son fell ill with dengue, prompting the Geras to venture into entrepreneurship with Mumbai ka famous Vada Pav.

Starting with just two Pavs, Chandrika gradually expanded her business, eventually introducing customized bread. Her journey from adversity to prominence is a testament to her resilience and fearlessness. Despite her current challenges, Chandrika dreams of further success, aspiring to open her own five-star hotel or Dhaba.
