Darvesh Singh Yadav, born in 1981 in Etah, Uttar Pradesh, hailed from the Other Backward Caste (OBC). She had her roots in Etah, UP, with an ancestral connection to Chandpur. Tragically, her parents passed away during her teenage years. Her father had retired as a police officer from the UP Police force, while her mother served as a Sub-Inspector in UP Police. Darvesh had a younger brother and a younger sister named Kanchan. After their mother’s unfortunate passing while on duty, Kanchan was offered a job as a Sub-Inspector in UP Police.

EDUCATION
She received her primary education in a local school in Etah, Uttar Pradesh. Her academic journey continued as she pursued a Bachelor of Laws degree at Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University in Agra (now known as Agra University). In the year 2004, she embarked on her career in law practice, sharing an office space with her college senior, Manish Babu Sharma, who had also attended the same college as her.
CAREER
Darvesh embarked on her legal career by practicing alongside her senior, Manish Babu Sharma, in Etah. She dedicated five years to her work there before relocating to Agra in 2009. Her career trajectory was marked by rapid advancement, and in 2014, she achieved a historic milestone as she was elected as the Vice-President of the Bar Council of Uttar Pradesh, becoming the first woman ever to hold this position in the UP Bar Council.
Darvesh was widely regarded as a compassionate individual, known for her caring nature. She attended funerals of acquaintances, graced event invitations with her presence, and greeted everyone with warmth and simplicity. Her ambition in 2019 was to secure the position of President of the Bar Council, and to achieve this, she worked diligently to garner the support of fellow council members. In her campaign, she proposed numerous enhancements and reforms to the existing system. Her pledges included establishing libraries throughout Uttar Pradesh for Bar Council members, providing compensation for the families of advocates who had tragically passed away in accidents, covering medical expenses for ailing advocates, and ensuring the availability of chambers for junior advocates.
On June 10, 2019, Darvesh achieved a significant milestone when she was elected as the President of the UP Bar Council. In a unique situation, she found herself in a tie with another lawyer, leading to a decision to alternate the presidency every six months. Darvesh had the honor of assuming the role of President first. Her historic accomplishment garnered widespread recognition and praise from across India as she became the first woman ever to hold the position of President in the UP Bar Council.
DEATH
On June 12, 2019, Darvesh Singh attended the civil court in Agra, where she was scheduled to receive a felicitation for her election as President. In an interesting twist, her long-time associate, Manish Babu Sharma, was also in attendance. However, Manish and Darvesh had not been on speaking terms for the past six months due to escalating disagreements. Senior lawyer Arvind Mishra, who was present, was pleased to see Manish, hoping that his presence indicated a willingness to congratulate Darvesh and reconcile their differences.
