CAREER

The Central Missouri Foster Care & Adoption Association (CMFCAA) has disclosed the resignation of its President and Founder, DeAnna Alonso. Serving as the leader since its establishment, Alonso has chosen to step down after years of dedicated service and notable contributions, opting to explore new challenges and opportunities.

Guided by her visionary leadership, CMFCAA has evolved from a modest initiative into a crucial support system for foster, adoptive, and kinship families in Central Missouri. In 2007, Alonso initiated the organization by distributing clothing and essentials to families in need directly from her Chevy Cavalier. Her unwavering passion and commitment have played a pivotal role in championing the needs of children and families, fostering public awareness, and cultivating a supportive community.

Over the span of 16 years, she has transformed the organization from a small group of volunteers into a thriving not-for-profit agency, boasting over 70 full-time employees, offices in four cities, and outreach across 24 mid-Missouri counties.
Board Chairman Carlos Graham expressed, “DeAnna Alonso has been a beacon of hope and a driving force in the world of foster care and adoption in Missouri. Her leadership and dedication have left an indelible mark on the organization, and her legacy will continue to inspire our work for years to come. We appreciate her persistent commitment and steadfast dedication to enhancing the well-being of children and families in our community.

CMFCAA remains steadfast in its commitment to supporting foster, adoptive, and kinship families, building upon the robust foundation established by Alonso. Recently, Jill Quaid was appointed as Executive Director to oversee the staff, allowing Alonso to concentrate on community/donor relations.
The board, staff, volunteers, and families served by CMFCAA express sincere gratitude to Alonso for her years of dedicated service and extend their best wishes for her future endeavors.
