Drisha Roy, an Indian project manager, hails from a prominent background as the great-granddaughter of renowned Indian filmmaker Bimal Roy.

PERSONAL INFORMATION

Her family holds a significant presence in various fields. Drisha Acharya, daughter of Sumit Acharya, an accomplished sportsman and member of several trade organizations, and Chimoo B. Acharya, who owns L’atitude Events, an event management company, and Encore, an interior designing company. Her brother, Rohan Acharya, excels as a partnerships & ancillary services executive at Blueground in Dubai. Drisha embraces her Bengali Baidya heritage inherited from her mother’s side.

Born and raised in Mumbai, Maharashtra, Drisha Acharya enjoyed a privileged upbringing. Her family relocated from Delhi to Dubai during her formative years.

EDUCATION

After completing her schooling at an undisclosed institution, she pursued her higher education at Jumeirah College in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from 2006 to 2009. CAREER

In 2012, Drisha embarked on her professional journey by joining BCD Travels in Dubai as a Business Development Executive. She diligently managed customer relations for local and offshore clients while supporting the Sales and Account Management team. Within a short span of two years, she earned a promotion to the role of Regional Account Manager. Continuing her impressive tenure, she further advanced to become an Account Manager after two more years of dedicated service. Finally, in 2019, Drisha Acharya achieved the esteemed position of National Program Manager within the company.

During her leisure time, Drisha enjoys embarking on trips and socializing with her friends. On occasion, she indulges in the pleasure of sipping red wine at gatherings. Recently, she made headlines by getting engaged to actor Karan Deol, the son of Sunny Deol, coinciding with the wedding anniversary of Karan’s grandparents, Dharmendra and Prakash Kaur.
