EDUCATION

Gaurav Bhatia earned his bachelor’s degree from Bridgeport University, a private American institution, and subsequently pursued a law degree at La Martiniere College in Lucknow.

CAREER

Gaurav Bhatia was appointed as an additional advocate general (AGG) for the Akhilesh Yadav government, in 2012. However, his position was revoked by the Uttar Pradesh government in 2016. Concurrently, during that period, he served as the National Spokesperson for the Samajwadi Party and held the position of National President of the Samajwadi Party’s Legal Wing.

Shortly after commencing his legal career as an advocate at the Supreme Court of India, he assumed the role of Honorary Secretary of the Supreme Court Bar Association from 2015 to 2017. Following this, he served as an advocate-on-record at the Supreme Court of India before earning the designation of Senior Advocate.

On April 2, 2017, he became the National Spokesperson of the Bhartiya Janta Party, resigning from the Samajwadi Party on February 5, 2017. During a media conference, he asserted that the Samajwadi Party had not adequately safeguarded the interests of the legal community in Uttar Pradesh.
