Iitija Mufti is the daughter of Mehbooba Mufti, who is the former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, and also the president of people’s Democratic Party (PDP).
PERSONAL INFORMATION
Iltija Mufti was born on 1987 in Kashmir. Her maternal grandfather, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, was the Home Minister of India from December 1989 to November 1990, and additionally served as the chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir State for two terms. in 2016 he passed away from multiple organ failure . Javed Iqbal Shah, is her father who is a writer, Political analyst, animal rights activist and businessman . Her mother, Mehbooba Mufti, is that the former Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir State. Her elder sister, Irtiqa Mufti, is an aspiring Bollywood actor who has featured in two Bollywood films, ‘Omkara’ (2006) and ‘Kaminey’ (2009). He belongs to an Islamic family.
EDUCATION
Iltija completed her schooling from Kashmir and then moved to Delhi, whenever she completed the latter part of her formal education. She graduated in Political Science from Sri Venkateshwara College (University of Delhi). Then, she moved to the UK and did her Master’s of International Relations from the Warwick University in Coventry, England. In 2020, she has come back from the United Kingdom and is lives in Kashmir.
CAREER
After completing her masters in International Relations, she worked as a Senior Administrative Officer at the Indian High Commissioner in London. After that, she additionally worked at Australian Indian Institute before coming to Kashmir.
