Manika Sheokand is an Indian citizen who was born in Chandigarh in 1996. She confessed in an Instagram post that others felt sorry for her parents for having a second girl child. “The long-standing misogynist society was still dictating people’s thoughts, and baby girls were still undesirable,” she quoted. When I was born, people felt sorry for my parents because they had a second girl child. This inspired me to demonstrate that I contribute to society and am not a burden.

Manika Sheokand studied at Chandigarh’s KB DAV Senior Secondary Public School. Bhatnagar University Institute of Chemical Engineering & Technology, Panjab University, Chandigarh, she pursued an Integrated B.E. (Chemical)-MBA from 2013 to 2018.

Manika Sheokand started working with KBR, Inc. in Gurgaon in May 2016 after a three-month internship there.
