Manya Singh is an Indian model, and she was declared as VLCC Femina Miss India 2020 1st Runner-Up on Wednesday, 10 February 2021.

PERSONAL INFORMATION

Manya Singh was born in 2001 in Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh. She was born into a household of lower middle class. Her mother, Manorama Singh, works at a beauty parlour, while her father, Omprakash Singh, drives a rickshaw. She has a sibling who is younger. She goes by the name Kajal with her loved ones.

EDUCATION

She was a student at Maharashtra’s S. M. Lohia High School. In Mumbai, she completed a Bachelor of Banking & Insurance degree. She pursued her graduation in management from Thakur College of Science and Commerce in Mumbai.

ABOUT

She was unable to attend classes from third to eighth grade because of her dire financial situation. She started washing utensils when she was 16 years old, and the same year, she received an 80% on her class 10 exam. According to her interview in 2020, she was forcibly exposed to patriarchal culture, domestic abuse, and poverty at an early age. I’ve gone through multiple nights without eating or sleeping, she continued. I’ve gone on long afternoon walks numerous times. The courage to pursue my dreams is a result of the blood, sweat, and tears I have shed. Being the daughter of a rickshaw driver prevented me from going to school because I had to start working when I was just a teenager. My entire wardrobe was passed downI desired for literature, but my fortune was not on my side. My parents eventually mortgaged what little jewellery my mother owned to make sure I could afford the exam fees necessary to acquire a degree. My mum has gone through a lot to support me.
She was named the top student in her 12th grade class. She continued studying for her graduation while also preparing for the UPSC tests.
She was unable to attend grooming sessions before to competing in the Miss Uttar Pradesh competition in 2020 due to her precarious financial situation. She used to watch YouTube videos to learn about the catwalk while watching the models.
On her Instagram page, she has given her endorsement to a number of companies, including Sephora and Staunch India.

CAREER

She ran away from her house when she was 14 and began working at Pizza Hut in Mumbai. She used to wash utensils for a living, using the money earned to further her education. She has also done call centre work to help pay for her college expenses. In an Instagram post, she talked about her difficult times, saying,

At the age of 14, I fled my house. I worked as a dishwasher in the evenings, finished my studies during the day, and worked at a call centre at night. I’ve travelled on foot for hours in order to avoid paying rickshaw fare.
She entered the “Campus Princess” beauty pageant more than ten times, however she was never selected for the first round of the competition. She has modelled for numerous prestigious fashion weeks, such as Times Fashion Week and Lakme Fashion Week.
Additionally, she has contributed to print advertisements for brands like Ahilya Fine Silver Jewels.
She won the Miss India Uttar Pradesh title in 2020. She competed in the VLCC Femina Miss India 2020 competition on behalf of her state, and she was named the first runner-up.
Manika Sheokand of Haryana was named VLCC Femina Miss Grand India 2020, while Manasa Varanasi of Telangana got the title of VLCC Femina Miss India World 2020.
