Mohan Krishnan is currently serving as the Global Head of Retail Strategic Initiatives at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. He has been with TCS for an impressive 16 years and 8 months.
EDUCATION
In terms of education, Mohan Krishnan holds an MTech in Industrial Management from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, which he completed in 1989. He also earned a BE in Mechanical Engineering from Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology in 1987.
CAREER
His role at TCS involves leading retail transformation initiatives on a global scale, collaborating with retailers across the retail value chain. He leverages technologies such as AI/ML, IoT, blockchain, robotics, and automation to drive transformation. His strategic focus includes enhancing customer experiences and orchestrating future store transformations to enhance store productivity.
Prior to his current position, Mohan Krishnan held the role of SAP Retail Solution Architect from March 2007 to September 2018, spanning 11 years and 7 months in Chennai. In this capacity, he led multiple merchandising modernization SAP programs for large retailers, integrating retail and wholesale businesses to optimize synergies. He possesses a strong understanding of SAP technologies and architectures, including new-generation solutions like SAP CAR, SAP promotions, and HANA-based solution extensions. His expertise extends to building business architecture and process models using tools like ARIS.
During his tenure at TCS, Mohan Krishnan was involved in key programs, including implementing SAP Suite on HANA for a multi-country European home improvement retailer with over 1000 stores globally. He also led a merchandising modernization SAP program for a large Australian retailer with 2800+ stores, covering various aspects of implementation. Furthermore, he managed the SAP implementation for India’s largest grocery retailer, overseeing the entire cycle from blueprinting to rollout across 10 regions and 1500 stores.
Before joining TCS, Mohan Krishnan held positions at Patni Computers, Ramco Systems, and Fujitsu ICIMF, gaining experience in the IT and technology industry.
