Mr. Russell C. Ellwanger has held the position of Chief Executive Officer at Tower Semiconductor since May 2005. In addition to his role as CEO, he has been a Director at the company since September 2016. CAREER
Prior to his tenure at Tower Semiconductor, spanning from 1996 to 2005, Mr. Ellwanger held various executive positions at Applied Materials Corporation. His roles at Applied Materials included Group Vice President and General Manager of the Applied Global Services (AGS) division, Group Vice President and General Manager of the CMP and Electroplating Business Group, and Corporate Vice President and General Manager of the Metrology and Inspection Business Group, during which he was primarily based in Israel. Additionally, he served as Vice President of Applied Materials’ 300-mm Program Office in the United States. Mr. Ellwanger also acted as the General Manager of Applied Materials’ Metal CVD Division and Managing Director of CVD Business Development, during which he was based in Singapore. His career prior to Applied Materials involved various managerial positions at Novellus Systems, Inc. from 1992 to 1996 and at Philips Semiconductors from 1980 to 1992.
Currently, Mr. Ellwanger’s extensive career in the business world has seen him at the helm of numerous companies. He currently serves as Chairman at TowerJazz Panasonic Semiconductor Co., Ltd. and holds the positions of Chief Executive Officer and Director at Tower Semiconductor Ltd. He also serves as Chairman for Jazz Semiconductor, Inc., Tower US Holdings, Inc., Tower Semiconductor USA, Inc., TowerJazz Texas, Inc., Jazz US Holdings, Inc., Tower Partners Semiconductor Co. Ltd., Tower Semiconductor NPB Holdings, Inc., Tower Semiconductor Newport Beach, Inc., Tower Semiconductor San Antonio, Inc., and Chief Executive Officer and Director at TowerJazz Japan Ltd., all of which are subsidiaries of Tower Semiconductor Ltd.
During his past career, Mr. Ellwanger held notable positions, including Vice President and General Manager of the Applied Global Services Division at Applied Materials, Inc., and he was a key figure at Novellus Systems, Inc. and Philips Semiconductors, Inc.
