Poonam Chand Solanki, also known as P. C. Solanki, is an Indian advocate. He is well-known for his involvement in the high-profile 2013 Asaram Bapu Rape Case, where he fought on behalf of a minor girl in the Rajasthan High Court, Jodhpur.

Poonam Chand Solanki was born in the year 1973, hailing from Jodhpur, Rajasthan. Poonam Chand Solanki is married and has a son. He grew up in a poverty-stricken family but was fortunate to receive a good education, thanks to his parents’ determination. He draws inspiration from the former Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court, Bhagwati Prasad Sharma.
EDUCATION
Poonam Chand Solanki attended Central School (now known as K.V. No.1 Air Force School) in Jodhpur for his schooling. He then pursued B.Com and went on to obtain an LL.M. degree from Jai Narayan Vyas University (JNVU), Jodhpur.
CAREER
Poonam Chand has been associated with the Bar Council of Rajasthan since 1996 and has been practicing law at various courts, including sessions courts, high courts, and the Supreme Court.
ASARAMBAPU RAPE CASE
In the high-profile 2013 Asaram Bapu Rape Case, Poonam Chand Solanki fought on behalf of a 16-year-old girl who accused Asaram Bapu of raping her. Despite facing threats, intimidation, and even attempts to bribe him, Poonam Chand remained steadfast in his pursuit of justice for the victim. He fought the case pro bono, not charging any fees from the girl’s family, who were financially weak. Poonam Chand’s efforts led to the conviction of Asaram Bapu and two of his associates in the case.

When not practicing law, Poonam Chand enjoys writing books and teaching children. He has penned several law books and is actively involved in educating young minds.
