Rahul Verma is an Indian pilot and the spouse of Garima Arora, a renowned Indian chef who made history by becoming the first Indian woman to earn a Michelin star in 2018.

PERSONAL INFORMATION

Rahul Verma was born in 1983. Rahul and Garima had been acquainted for ten years prior to their marriage in 2017. Garima Arora was born on November 9, 1986, to a Punjabi family in Mumbai and worked as a journalist for a brief period before leaving her career to pursue culinary arts. She completed her diploma at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris and later interned under Gordon Ramsay at his Dubai restaurant. Garima then moved to Bangkok to work as a sous chef for Indian chef Gaggan Anand at his eponymous restaurant, before starting her own restaurant, Gaa, in 2017. Gaa soon earned one Michelin star in November 2018, making Garima the first Indian woman to achieve the distinction. She was also recognized as Asia’s Best Female Chef in February 2019 and was listed among the world’s 50 best restaurants. In 2022, she received the Young Chef Award from the 2022 MICHELIN Guide Thailand.

EDUCATION

Rahul Verma received his education at Sacred Heart School in Maharashtra, though not much is known about his family background.

CAREER

Rahul Verma began his aviation career as a first officer at Spicejet Airlines in Mumbai from July 2012 to March 2014 before joining Jet Airways as a first officer in April 2014.
