Rupali Jagga is a singer from India. She is also known as “The Shakira of India” and “RJ.”

PERSONAL INFORMATION

Rupali Jagga was born in the Uttar Pradesh city of Saharanpur on Saturday, 15 July 1995 (age 24 as of 2019). Her astrological sign is Cancer.
She is from a Punjabi family. Sudhir Jagga is her father’s name, and Anju Jagga is her mother’s name.

EDUCATION

Rupali Jagga  attended Asha Modern School in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh. She graduated with honours in English from Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College in Chandigarh. She enrolled in a master’s degree programme in music at the University of Mumbai in 2018. She began studying music at the age of six. She studied under Nidhi Narang of the Agra Gharana for six years.

CAREER

In 2007, she competed in the reality TV show Bhajan Samrat, which aired on Sadhana TV; she finished in the top six contestants. She won numerous state-level singing contests. In 2011, she was named the national winner of the Sangam Kala Group’s singing competition.
She competed in the singing reality TV show Indian Idol in 2012 and was one of the show’s theatre round finalists.
In 2013, she won Videocon’s ‘Young Manch Competition,’ becoming the brand ambassador for the northern region of India. She won the national Youth Festival in Light and Western Vocal in 2014. She began her professional singing career in 2015, when she began performing for brands such as Times of India, Videocon, and Airtel. In 2016, she was a finalist on Zee TV’s singing reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, where she was dubbed “The Shakira of India.”
She competed in the Amazon Prime Video original series “The Remix” in 2018. Sunidhi Chauhan, Amit Trivedi, and Nucleya served as judges for the show.
In 2017, she made her film debut as a singer with the song “Kannu Hodibedi” in the Kannada film “Sarkari Kelasa Devara Kelasa.”
She made her Bollywood debut in 2019 with the short film “Cakewalk,” starring Esha Deol. She also made her Punjabi debut with the song “Sab Jag Vase” from the Punjabi film “Aasra” (2019).
She has also performed on stages in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, South Africa, Australia, Singapore, and Dubai.
