SAKSHI REDDY MURDER CASE
In the bustling streets of Shahbad Dairy in Rohini, New Delhi, a horrifying incident unfolded when Sakshi Reddy, the victim, was brutally murdered by her alleged boyfriend, Sahil. Sakshi, who was en route to the market to purchase a birthday gift for her friend’s son, encountered Sahil in this densely populated area.
Despite her refusal to engage in conversation, Sahil ruthlessly attacked her, repeatedly stabbing her with a knife over 20 times. To escalate the horror further, he mercilessly crushed her head with a heavy cement boulder. Expressing her grief in a media interview, Sakshi’s mother conveyed the heart-wrenching details of the incident.
According to certain accounts, Sakshi had been in a relationship with Sahil for a duration exceeding three years. However, on the 27th of May 2023, they engaged in a quarrel as Sakshi expressed her desire to end the relationship. Allegedly, this breakup request greatly angered Sahil, leading him to harbor sinister intentions towards Sakshi. The initial investigation into the case revealed that the Delhi Police, represented by Special CP Dependra Pathak, registered a case at the Shahbad Dairy police station under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code. It was Sakshi’s father who lodged the grievous complaint.
SAHIL’S ARREST
After committing the heinous crime, Sahil swiftly fled the scene of the incident. His initial destination was his own residence, where he retrieved his phone before proceeding to the Kashmiri Gate Bus Stand. From there, he boarded a bus that would take him to his aunt, Shamim’s house. Once he arrived at his aunt’s residence, Sahil reached out to his mother, recounting the entire gruesome incident to her. Meanwhile, Sakshi’s father wasted no time in filing a complaint against Sahil at the Shahbad Dairy police station, prompting the Delhi Police to launch a search operation to apprehend him.
On the 29th of May 2023, the relentless efforts of the Delhi Police paid off as Sahil was arrested in Aterna village, located in the Bulandshahr district of Uttar Pradesh. The breakthrough came when the police traced a call made by Sahil’s aunt to his father, leading them to his whereabouts and ensuring his capture.
