Steve Cahillane

Steve Cahillane serves as the President and CEO of Coca-Cola Refreshments, overseeing an operating unit that accounts for almost 90% of The Coca-Cola Company’s North American business.

PERSONAL INFORMATION

As one of four children, Mr. Cahillane hails from a New York firefighter father with connections to Co. Kerry and a mother who was born and raised in Donegal. Mr. Cahillane and his wife, Tracy, live in Atlanta with their four children.

EDUCATION

Mr. Cahillane earned a B.A. in political science from Northwestern University, where he currently serves on the board of trustees, and holds an M.B.A. from Harvard University.

CAREER

Before joining Kellogg, Mr. Cahillane held the position of president and CEO at The Nature’s Bounty Co. in 2014. Prior to his role at Nature’s Bounty, he spent seven years at The Coca-Cola Company, serving as the president of Coca-Cola Americas, the company’s largest business with $25 billion in sales. Before his time at Coca-Cola, Mr. Cahillane spent eight years in senior leadership roles at AB InBev, the world’s largest brewing company, including the position of chief commercial officer. Additionally, he serves on the boards of The Consumer Goods Forum, the Smithsonian, and Colgate-Palmolive, and is a co-trustee of the W.K. Kellogg Foundation Trust.

Steve initiated his career as a sales representative at E&J Gallo Winery. In 1995, he founded State Street Brewing Company in Chicago, owning it until 1997 when he sold the business and joined Coors Distribution Company as VP and general manager. Transitioning to InBev in 1999, he held the role of VP of U.S. Sales until 2001, when he ascended to the position of CEO of Labatt USA. Between 2003 and 2005, he served as CEO of Interbrew UK and Ireland. Subsequently, he became COO for InBev, and in 2007, he assumed the role of president of the Europe Group for Coca-Cola Enterprises. In 2008, he was appointed president of CCE’s North American Business Unit.

Kellogg’s current business strategy, known as the Heart and Soul strategy, is integral to its Deploy for Growth approach. This is exemplified through the global purpose initiative, Breakfasts for Better Days™, which addresses the global challenge of food insecurity. Since its launch in 2013, Kellogg has provided over 2 billion servings of food to those in need, making a significant impact in the last two years by donating food, educating children on nutrition, supporting farmers, organizing volunteer days, and engaging millions in the issue of food security.

Kellogg’s current business strategy, known as the Heart and Soul strategy, is integral to its Deploy for Growth approach. Colgate-Palmolive Company has declared that Steve Cahillane, the Chairman of the Board, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Kellogg Company, has been appointed to Colgate’s Board of Directors, starting from February 1, 2023.
