Upasana Kamineni Konidela is a prominent Indian entrepreneur and philanthropist. She is the founder of URLife, Vice Chairperson of CSR at Apollo Hospitals, and Managing Director of Family Health Plan Insurance TPA Ltd (FHPL). Upasana is also recognized as the wife of the renowned actor Ram Charan.

Her mother, Shobana Kamineni, holds the positions of President of the Confederation of Indian Industry and Executive Vice-Chairperson of Apollo Hospitals. Her father, Anil Kamineni, is the founder of KEI Group, a diversified logistics, leisure, and infrastructure business. Upasana has a brother named Puansh Kamineni and a sister named Anushpala Kamineni. Her maternal grandfather, Prathap C. Reddy, is a Padma Vibhushan recipient and the founder of Apollo Hospitals, India’s first corporate healthcare institution. Her maternal aunts include Preetha Reddy (Vice-Chairperson of Apollo Hospitals), Sangita Reddy (Joint Managing Director of Apollo Hospitals), and Suneeta Reddy (Director at Apollo Hospitals).

Upasana tied the knot with Ram Charan on 14 June 2012 at the Temple Trees Farm House in Chennai. On 20 June 2023, the couple joyfully welcomed their first child, a baby girl, at Apollo Hospital in Hyderabad. Upasana is the daughter-in-law of the renowned South Indian actor Chiranjeevi.

Upasana pursued a degree in International Business Marketing & Management from Regent’s University in London.

In her professional roles, Upasana is known as the founder of URLife, a platform that focuses on urban wellness and productivity. She incorporates global best practices to enhance the productivity of Corporate India. Upasana strongly believes in the power of alternate medicine and healing, and she advocates for healing India through the exploration of traditional wisdom. URLife has established the largest number of Occupational Health Centers in the country and has received recognition, including the Economic Times Retail Icon & Realty Award in 2017.

Upasana is also the owner and Editor-in-Chief of BPositive, a health and lifestyle magazine. During the pandemic, she transitioned BPositive into a sustainable digital platform to reach a wider audience and minimize the ecological footprint. The rebranded platform, URLife, shares engaging content and aims to evolve into an eCommerce provider of products and services related to well-being.

As the Vice Chairperson of Apollo Foundation, Upasana is involved in initiatives that diagnose, treat, and educate individuals in need of medical care. The Apollo Foundation focuses on providing comprehensive healthcare from birth to death, based on the breakthrough model developed by Dr. Prathap C. Reddy.
