Vaibhav Gehlot, an Indian businessman and politician, is known for his association with the Indian National Congress. He holds a prominent position as the son of Ashok Gehlot, the Chief Minister of Rajasthan. In the 2019 General Elections, Vaibhav contested from the Jodhpur Constituency.

PERSONAL INFORMATION

Born on Monday, 2 June 1980, in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, Vaibhav Gehlot is a Gemini by zodiac sign. Vaibhav Gehlot belongs to the Backward Mali (Gardener) Community (OBC). His father, Ashok Gehlot, holds the position of Chief Minister of Rajasthan, while his mother, Sunita Gehlot, is a homemaker. His sister, Sonia Gehlot, is married. Vaibhav tied the knot with Himanshi on 15 July 2005, and they have a daughter named Kashwini Gehlot.

EDUCATION

Vaibhav Gehlot received his primary education from Air Force Bal Bharati School in New Delhi and went on to pursue a Bachelor of Laws degree from ILS Law College in Pune.

CAREER

In 2004, Vaibhav joined the Youth Congress and actively contributed to his father’s political campaigns. Although he had the desire to contest the 2009 elections, Ashok Gehlot initially discouraged his involvement in politics. However, in 2018, Vaibhav once again approached his father with the intention to run for elections, and this time Ashok Gehlot agreed. After consulting with the party’s top leadership, it was officially announced that Vaibhav would be contesting the Lok Sabha Elections from the Jodhpur Constituency in Rajasthan.

In terms of his political journey, Vaibhav Gehlot joined the Youth Congress in 2004 and became a member of the Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) in 2010. He actively managed his father’s political campaigns but did not directly engage in politics. In 2014, he was appointed as the Secretary of the Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC), and in 2018, he became a part of the All India Congress Committee (AICC). On 28 March 2019, the Congress party officially declared Vaibhav as its candidate for the Lok Sabha elections from the Jodhpur Constituency.
