Rinshul Chandra is a seasoned professional currently serving as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Food Delivery at Zomato, based in Gurugram, Haryana, India. His journey at Zomato began in June 2018 when he joined as AVP (Assistant Vice President) for Product. Over the years, he has taken on various roles, including Vice President for Product and Head of Business for Zomato Everyday. As the COO for Food Delivery, he oversees and manages key aspects of Zomato’s online ordering business, including driver and delivery logistics, merchant products and platforms, and consumer-facing platforms.
EDUCATION
Rinshul Chandra holds a dual degree (B. Tech. + M. Tech.) in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. During his time at IIT Kharagpur, he was actively involved in extracurricular activities, holding positions such as Vice President of Technology Students’ Gymkhana and Placement Coordinator.
His educational journey began with higher secondary studies in Science at SD Public School, New Delhi, followed by JEE preparation at Vidyamandir Classes. Rinshul completed his secondary education at Delhi Public School, Patna, achieving an impressive 96.8%.
CAREER
Prior to his association with Zomato, Rinshul was a founding team member and Head of Product & Content at Magicpin (Samast Technologies), a hyper-growth technology startup operating in the Indian offline retail space. At Magicpin, Rinshul played a crucial role in creating a social network for ‘local experiences,’ utilizing communities to drive online discovery and commerce for offline businesses.
Before his venture into startups, Rinshul worked as a Process Engineer at Shell, based in Bengaluru, India. In this role, he was part of the Front-end Engineering Studies team, responsible for delivering surface engineering concepts and their implementation on an end-to-end basis, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams on projects in EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa).
Rinshul’s journey also includes being an Advisor and Associate Manager for the Entrepreneurship Cell at IIT Kharagpur, where he provided strategic guidance and streamlined operational activities to promote a pro-startup environment. He has a strong background in entrepreneurship and has actively contributed to various initiatives aimed at fostering a startup culture among college students.
Additionally, Rinshul has gained experience in diverse domains, including a summer internship at Hindustan Unilever Ltd, executive technology recruiting at ITEN Corporation, and a summer internship at Inolyst, where he worked on mathematical finance models for patent valuation.
