Born on 9th March 1993 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, she spent her childhood in the city.
Aliya Modi married Brett Carlsen in May 2022, and the couple is happily settled in their marital bliss. She comes from a close-knit family, being the daughter of Lalit Modi and the late Minal Modi, and has a brother named Ruchir Modi. Additionally, she has a step-sister named Karima Sagrani. Aliya’s grandparents are Krishan Kumar Modi and Bina Modi.

Aliya attended Aiglon College for her schooling and later pursued a Bachelor of Arts in History from Brandeis University in Boston, Massachusetts. She further honed her skills by completing a Master of Arts in Architectural Interior Design from the Inchbald School of Design in London.
After her formal education, Aliya attended Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York, where she undertook a course in Fine Art and Interior Design.
CAREER
Following her time at Pratt Institute, Aliya founded and became the Chief Design Consultant of AMRM International Consultants Ltd., a London-based interior design company. Prior to starting her own venture, she gained valuable experience working at Design Haus Liberty for a duration of two years.
Apart from her successful career in interior design, Aliya holds directorial positions in several companies, including Ion Care Medical Ltd, Kbam Limited, Habanero West Limited, and Indofil Industries Limited. Furthermore, she serves as a director at the Peyotito Restaurant in London.
