EDUCATION
Alok Sagar earned his undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from IIT Delhi, followed by a master’s degree from the same institution in 1973. Subsequently, he pursued a PhD at the University of Houston in Texas, USA.
CAREER
Following his academic pursuits, he became a professor at IIT Delhi but eventually left his position to champion women’s empowerment. Notably, he also had the opportunity to teach the former RBI Governor, Raghuram Rajan. Since then, his focus has shifted towards environmental causes, specifically tree planting initiatives in two districts of Madhya Pradesh, namely BETUL and Hoshangabad. With a modest lifestyle consisting of just three kurtas and a bicycle, he has successfully planted over 50,000 trees and is actively involved in educating children in rural villages.
