Born on March 24, 1991, in Hisar, Haryana, India, Ankur Rathee hails from a Hindu Jat family, being the son of Joginder Singh and Usha Rathee. He has a younger sister named Sonia Rathee. He engaged with actress Anuja Joshi on 19th of July 2020. Proudly Indian, his zodiac sign remains unknown, while his passions include dancing, acting, and reading. He is a devotee of Paramahansa Yogananda and practices Kriya Yoga meditation.

EDUCATION

Ankur Rathee pursued his early education at The Bishop’s School in Pune. Following that, he furthered his academic journey at Princeton University, where he immersed himself in the world of arts, learning from distinguished mentors like Tony Award winner John Rando, Leigh Silverman, a nominee for the Tony Award, and Christina Lazaridi, a nominee for the Academy Award. During his time at Princeton, he focused on the study of Cultural Anthropology and Theatre, nurturing his passion for both fields.

CAREER

Coming from a non-Bollywood background family, Ankur Rathee embarked on his career by venturing into theatre and short films. His debut in front of the camera occurred in the short film titled ‘100: The Tribute,’ directed by Raashi Desai and Siddhi Sundar. This poignant short film served as a tribute to the 100th anniversary of Indian cinema, marking a memorable beginning to his artistic journey.

Ankur Rathee marked his film debut with a prominent role in “The Tashkent Files,” a film featuring esteemed actors Naseeruddin Shah, Mithun Chakraborty, and Pankaj Tripathi. Additionally, he showcased his talent in various web series, playing significant roles in “Four More Shots Please,” “Made in Heaven,” “Mission Over Mars,” and “Hello Mini.” His versatile performances across both film and web platforms have garnered him widespread recognition in the industry.

He also worked in various theatres and TV commercial advertisements.
