EDUCATION

In 2015, Chika Ikogwe initially enrolled in the Bachelor of Fine Arts (Theatre Practice) program at the Victorian College of the Arts but later left when she secured admission to The National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) for the Bachelor of Fine Arts (Acting) course.

CAREER

At the age of four, Chika Ikogwe moved to Australia. Despite aspiring to become a doctor in her early years, a shift occurred after taking biology classes and visiting hospitals, leading her to realize that medicine wasn’t her destined career.

Chika started her career with performances in productions like Fangirls, Dance Nation, The Wolves, and Normal. Her acting journey commenced with the lead role of Mikki in ABC’s Mikki VS The World. In 2021, she portrayed Butcher Boy in the TV mini-series The Moth Effect and later appeared as Ashleigh in The Tourist. In 2022, Chika took on the role of Jojo Obah in Netflix’s Heartbreak High, alongside Ayesha Madon.

Additionally, she contributed to TV series such as The Tourist, Mikki vs the World, and The Moth Effect.
Chika co-authored ‘The House at Boundary Road Liverpool,’ which had its global debut at The Old 505 Theatre in November 2019.

AWARD

In 2018, she earned the BBM Youth Support Award (Drama), and the following year, Chika secured the ‘Best Newcomer’ accolade at the Sydney Theatre Awards in 2019.
