Born in 1996 in Begumpet, Hyderabad, Telangana, Ishita Kishore hails from Patna, Bihar, which she proudly calls her hometown. With Indian nationality, she belongs to a Hindu family. Her late father, Wing Commander Sanjay Kishore, served as an Indian Air Force Officer until his passing in 2004. Her mother is named Jyoti Kishore. Ishan Harsh, her brother, is an advocate by profession. She is unmarried. While her Zodiac sign remains unknown, her specific hobbies are not disclosed.

EDUCATION

Following her schooling years at Air Force Bal Bharti School in Delhi, Ishita Kishore pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University, completing her studies between 2014 and 2017.

CAREER

Throughout her formative years, Ishita Kishore consistently demonstrated exceptional academic prowess. Having completed her schooling in 2014 with a specialization in the commerce stream, particularly focusing on mathematics, she attained an outstanding score of 96.25%. Her dedication to learning continued as she embarked on internships, starting with Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited in 2015, followed by a stint at Gail (India) Ltd. in 2016. From June 2017 to March 2019, she served as a Risk Analyst at Ernest & Young (EY).
In 2019, Ishita Kishore made the pivotal decision to resign from her job, setting her sights on preparing for the UPSC IAS exam. Despite encountering initial setbacks and facing failure in her first two attempts due to not clearing the prelims, she tenaciously persevered. Her unwavering determination and relentless hard work ultimately bore fruit in 2023 when she achieved an extraordinary feat—the coveted 1st rank in the UPSC-IAS examination on her third attempt.

ABOUT

During her academic journey, Ishita Kishore actively participated in a wide range of co-curricular activities. She held the esteemed position of President in the Rotary-sponsored club “Interact,” where she organized enlightening United Nations sessions during school events. Additionally, she was a valuable member of both the Economic Society and Literary Society during her college years.

In 2015, Ishita dedicated her time as an intern at the NGO CRY (Child Rights and You), where she made a meaningful contribution by teaching children at a shelter home in Tihar jail. From a young age, she nurtured a passion for sports, particularly football, and showcased her talent as a national-level player, participating in the Subroto Cup in 2012. In 2017, she earned the prestigious distinction of being selected as a member of the Indo-China Youth Destination program, representing the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports on behalf of the Indian Government.

In a post-examination interview, Ishita Kishore revealed her disciplined study routine, which involved dedicating nine hours each day to prepare for the UPSC IAS exam. She emphasized the significance of enhancing her writing abilities through relentless practice. For the UPSC IAS exam, she opted for political science and international relations as her chosen subjects.
