Jaihind Kumar is an Indian actor, scriptwriter, and director, primarily known for his work in Hindi films. He made his appearance in the 2023 film “Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai.”

Born in Uttar Pradesh, India. There isn’t much information available about Jaihind Kumar’s parents, but he does have a sister.

EDUCATION

Jaihind Kumar completed his schooling there before moving to New Delhi. He enrolled at Jamia Millia Islamia and became part of the university’s theatrical group called Pierrot Troupe, established by Sayeed Alam. During this time, he actively participated in numerous stage plays.

CAREER

While pursuing his graduation, Jaihind Kumar applied for the National School of Drama (NSD) in New Delhi. However, he couldn’t secure admission as he had not completed his graduation at that time. After finishing his studies, he went to Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, and joined the Himachal Cultural Research Forum & Theatre Academy, which is affiliated with NSD. He became part of the academy’s first batch and pursued a one-year course in acting.

After completing his formal education, Jaihind Kumar relocated to Mumbai to pursue a career in the film industry. Despite auditioning for various films, he initially struggled to secure roles. He did manage to work in some minor roles in TV serials, but he wasn’t satisfied and decided to take a temporary break from acting. During this time, he explored scriptwriting, although he faced challenges and wasn’t successful in that endeavor either.

In 2010, Jaihind Kumar finally achieved a breakthrough in his acting career when he landed the role of a fruit vendor in the film “Tum Milo Toh Sahi.” He had the opportunity to share the screen with renowned actors like Nana Patekar, Dimple Kapadia, and Suniel Shetty. The same year, he appeared in the film “Payback” as Sandy.

Jaihind Kumar’s notable works include his role as a father in the 2015 short film “Jaya,” for which he received a nomination at the Madrid International Film Festival under the best actor’s category. He also appeared in the short film “Miyan Kal Aana,” produced by Nawazuddin Siddiqui, in the same year.

In 2016, Jaihind Kumar gained significant recognition for his role as Harnaam in the black comedy crime drama film “Laal Rang,” where he shared the screen with Randeep Hooda. He also appeared alongside Manoj Bajpayee in the film “Rukh.” In 2018, he directed a short film titled “Utpataang.”

Jaihind Kumar’s career continued to progress as he secured the role of a goon in the 2019 film “Super 30,” alongside Hrithik Roshan. In 2021, he appeared in the film “Shankar’s Fairies,” which was showcased at the Marché du Film – Festival de Cannes. Additionally, he landed a role in the short film “Zero Kilometer,” which premiered at the Washington DC South Asian Film Festival.
