Kirit Bhansali has recently assumed the role of Chairman at the Indian Institute of Gems & Jewellery (IIGJ), Mumbai, following his election by the newly reconstituted Board of Directors of the institute. He succeeds Vasant Mehta, who held the position for an extended period. During the same meeting, three new directors, namely Namita Pandya, Anil Virani, and Ashok Gajera, were also elected to the Board.

CAREER

Continuing from the previous Board, other directors include Praveenshankar Pandya, who presently serves as Chairman of GJEPC, as well as Vasant Mehta, Dilipkumar Lakhi, Sanjay Kothari, Nirmalkumar Barmecha, Ashish Kothari, and Raj Hiten Parikh.

The new Chairman is a partner at Sky Gems & Smital Gems and holds a committee membership in BDB & GJEPC. IIGJ, in its announcement, recognized the significant contributions of outgoing Chairman Vasant Mehta, who played a pivotal role in establishing and advancing IIGJ Mumbai to its current status as a renowned center for jewelry education in India and abroad. Furthermore, IIGJ is now collaborating with Mewar University to offer a BA Degree in Jewellery and partnering with the Welingkar Institute of Management Development and Research to provide modules in Jewellery Management.
