Nandita Mahtani began her fashion design career in 1998. She then went to work for her family’s company. Her sister, Anu, launched her fashion label Ananya in London in 2000. The label piqued her interest, and Nandita decided to join her sister’s business. It was followed by Nandita Mahtani, her signature label. Her brands have shops in Mumbai, Goa, and London.
Nandita has created clothing for many well-known Bollywood celebrities. For many years, she has been designing and styling clothes for Indian cricketer Virat Kohli.

In 2017, Mahtani co-founded the fashion label Love Generation with Dolly Sidhwani (creative director) and Bhavana Pandey (costume designer).
