In childhood, Poonam was not into acting, but when she took part in a fashion show, she gained a lot of confidence. She came to Bombay in 2012 in search of job in the industry. She featured in various advertisements, and she did many modelling projects. she struggled for six months before doing TV shows. She was featured in the newspaper Mid-day, In 2014. She is debut with the Hindi film Rajjo as Acharya Deshbhushan’s PA (2013).
