Rajan Tamhane appeared in the Damoo Kenkere-directed movie Tuzya Wachun Karamena in 1986. He shared the screen with Laxmikant Berde, Alka Kubal, and Ashok Saraf. He appeared in Rajdutt’s Mazhe Ghar Mazha Sansar that same year. Mazhe Ghar Mazha Sansar also included Roohi Berde, Nilima Borvankar, and Mughda Chitnis in the cast. He both directed and appeared in the 1987 television series Savita Damodar Paranjpe. Among the cast members were Reema Lagoo, Uday Lagoo, Kishore Nandlaskar, Sudhir Joshi, and Sunil Shende. He appeared in the 1999 film Raatra Aarmabh, which was helmed by Abhay Phansekar. Together with Rajan, Anand Abhyankar, Surekha Kudachi, and Dilip Kulkarni played the important parts.
