Dr. Metri, formerly the Director of IIM Tiruchirappalli, led the institution to prominence among India’s top business schools. His impactful career includes significant roles as Dean at L&T Institute of Project Management Vadodara, IMI New Delhi, and MDI Gurgaon, along with overseeing research programs at BITS Pilani.
An eminent authority in Project Management, Infrastructure, Quality Management, and Supply Chain Management, he has authored numerous research papers and books. Dr. Metri is also a valued member of editorial advisory boards for various national and international journals.
Presently, Dr. Metri serves on the Indian National Commission for Cooperation with UNESCO (INCCU), participates as an expert in mentoring Institutes of Eminence (IoE), and chairs the All India Board of Management Studies, AICTE, New Delhi. Furthermore, he contributes to the Management and Systems Division Council (MSDC), Human Resources Management and Innovation Sectional Committee of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), New Delhi, and the AIMA Board of Studies, New Delhi.

Dr. Metri holds various prestigious positions, including being a member of the Governing Council of SACON Coimbatore under the MoEFCC, Govt. of India. He also serves as an Honorary Advisor to TNeGA(CEET), Ministry of IT, Govt. of Tamil Nadu, and is a member of the Management Committee at PMA, India. Additionally, he is the Chancellor’s Nominee on the Academic Council of Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University and contributes to several other institutions and universities in similar roles. Dr. Metri is also a valued member of the Expert Group for implementing NEP-2020 and has previously served on the board of the Decision Sciences Institute (DSI) in Houston, Texas, USA.

Dr. Metri has led two Indian delegations to Bali, Indonesia, for ISO/TC 260 and to Amersfoort, Netherlands, for ISO/TC 251, contributing to the development of international standards. His diverse roles include chairing the International Academic Review Committee for Sultan Qaboos University in Muscat, Oman, serving as a foreign expert for HEQAAC (UGC) in Nepal, participating as a member of the ABMC Accreditation Panel in Osaka, Japan, and joining the Eurasia-Pacific Uninet (EPU).
Notably, Dr. Metri made history by becoming the first Indian to be elected as the Vice President of the Asia Pacific Division at the Decision Sciences Institute (DSI). He has also graced numerous convocations as the Chief Guest, including those at Shivaji University, Anna University, and various engineering and management institutions in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. His expertise has even reached global audiences, as he was an invited keynote speaker at the Pan-African PMC in Cameroon and an instructor at ESSEC Business School in Paris, where he taught the Global Management Program to Mauritian Business Leaders.

Dr. Metri has imparted training to over 100 Vice Chancellors from Central, State, and deemed Universities across the nation. Additionally, he has trained over 1000 Directors, Deans, Principals, and Heads of Departments at prominent Engineering Institutes, including NITs, as part of the World Bank-assisted project by MHRD-TEQIP, aimed at enhancing the quality of technical education in India.
Furthermore, Dr. Metri has organized numerous board-level and top management programs for prominent public sector organizations.
