Before stepping into the world of acting, Shivanna ventured into the tech realm, working for a software company in Bengaluru. Later, at 19, she dabbled in modeling. However, it was her acting prowess that truly shined when she debuted on the Kannada television show Kinnare. Beyond Kannada TV, Shivanna has also graced Tamil serials, sharing the screen with stars like Vijaya Venkatesan. Notably, her stint as a contestant on Bigg Boss Kannada season 7, particularly her close bond with Kuri Prathap, sparked significant industry gossip.
