In April 2015, Shanil Guru joined Mango Pickle Entertainment in Mangaluru, Karnataka. He began to work there as an assistant director. In 2017, Shanil Guru was interview in the 11th episode of INSIDE STORIES with the 2017 kannada film ‘Ondu Motteya Kathe’ (OMR). In 2018, he appeared as Raghu in the Kannada film ‘Sarkaari Hiriya Prasthamika Shaale, Kaasaragodu, Koduge : Raamanna Rai’. He played the role of Karunakar in the Kannada gangster film ‘Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vahana’ In 2021. he was cast in a Tulu movie titled ‘Abatara Maternala’ in 2022. In the same year, he appeared in the Kannada film ‘Prayashaha,’ which was released on the 9th of December 2022. Before working in the enjoyment industry, he worked as a branch manager at Fedbank
