CAREER

Karthik’s journey into the film industry commenced with his foray into writing, where he played a pivotal role in crafting scripts and narratives for Telugu cinema. He made his writing debut with the Telugu film “Karthikeya” in 2014, marking the beginning of his creative contributions to the industry. This initial step paved the way for his subsequent work, where he continued to explore the art of storytelling through cinema.

In 2015, Karthik transitioned into film direction, taking the helm for the Telugu film “Bham Bolenath.” This shift marked a significant milestone in his career, as he embarked on a new role as a director, shaping the visual and narrative aspects of his projects.

Beyond his work in feature films, Karthik Varma Dandu has also directed Telugu short films and served as a second unit director for a Telugu TV serial. His versatile talents extend to various aspects of filmmaking, showcasing his commitment to the craft.

Karthik’s creative journey has been influenced by his early interests in literature and cinema. He developed a passion for reading books from an early age, and this love for storytelling led him to explore the works of renowned Indian film directors such as Ram Gopal Varma, M. Night Shyamalan, and Mani Ratnam, particularly in the genre of horror.

Furthermore, Karthik’s career has been guided and inspired by the esteemed film director Sukumar, whom he considers his guru in film direction. Sukumar’s mentorship and influence have left a lasting impact on Karthik’s approach to filmmaking, emphasizing the importance of drama and multiple narrative possibilities within a scene.
