Keita Nishiyama, the former Director-General of the Commerce and Information Policy Bureau at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan, was responsible for overseeing METI policies in the information industry, covering areas such as information technology, cybersecurity, and the content industry.

Previously, he held concurrent positions as the General Manager of the Management Reform Support Office at the Nuclear Damage Compensation and Decommissioning Facilitation Corporation. Additionally, he served as the Director of Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) Holdings, where he addressed damage compensation and decommissioning policies resulting from the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station accident following the Great East Japan Earthquake.
