Umesh Prasad hails from the Ghorasahan village in the East Champaran district of Bihar, India.

EDUCATION

His academic journey includes attending Hazarimal High School in Raxaul and later pursuing higher education at esteemed institutions.

Umesh’s educational achievements are impressive, as he holds a Master of Science degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science. He also obtained a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Tamil Nadu Government Dental College & Hospital and a Bachelor of Science (Honours) from Ranchi College. Moreover, he has been recognized as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Public Health (FRS PH) and holds a Master of Philosophy (M. Phil.) degree.

CAREER

His passion for science and knowledge dissemination led him to establish the scientific magazine “Scientific European” (SCIEU). As the founder and Editor-in-Chief of the magazine, Umesh Prasad strives to bridge the gap between scientific research and the general public. “Scientific European” publishes articles based on peer-reviewed journals, making the latest scientific advancements accessible to a broader audience and fostering a better understanding of complex topics.

In addition to his role as Editor-in-Chief, Umesh actively contributes to writing various articles for “Scientific European.” His dedication to science communication is further evident in his involvement in reviving the magazine “The India Review” (TIR) news, breathing new life into a publication that had not been active since 1932.

Umesh Prasad’s contributions extend beyond scientific communication. He has launched a digital portal to assist students seeking admission to European institutions, demonstrating his commitment to supporting aspiring scholars.

Furthermore, Umesh is the founder of the UK India Centre, emphasizing his efforts to strengthen ties between the United Kingdom and India in various domains, including academia, research, and culture.

His expertise and dedication have earned him membership in esteemed organizations, including the Royal Society for Public Health, Chatham House, the Association of British Science Writers, and the European Association of Science Editors. With significant positions like Editor-in-Chief of “Scientific European” and Editor of “The India Review” under his belt, Umesh Prasad continues to make valuable contributions to the fields of science, journalism, and cross-cultural understanding.
