Apinderdeep Singh is an Indian actor, model, and assistant director. In 2022, he portrayed the character Sukhi in the Netflix original film ‘Jogi,’ alongside Diljit Dosanjh. Apart from his acting roles, he has also appeared in various Punjabi music videos.

Apinderdeep Singh was born on Thursday, March 3, 1994, in Amritsar, Punjab, India. He belongs to a Sikh family in Amritsar, Punjab, India. His father, Surinder Singh, and mother, Kamaljeet Kaur, raised him alongside his elder sister, Jasmeet Kaur, who resides in Ontario, Canada.

EDUCATION

He attended Sri Guru Harkrishan Public School on Golden Avenue in Amritsar from 1998 to 2011. Apinderdeep began learning Gatka, a Sikh martial art, when he was in fourth grade. He pursued a diploma in Civil Engineering from Government Polytechnic College in Amritsar from 2011 to 2014. Later, he pursued a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Amritsar College of Engineering & Technology, graduating in 2018. In 2021, he moved to Mumbai to pursue acting.

CAREER

Apinderdeep began his modeling career while in school. He won the Sikh modeling pageant, Mr. Turban, in 2011. Later, in 2014, he became a grand finalist at the Mr. Singh and Kaur pageant.

In the film industry, Apinderdeep worked as an intern assistant director for the movie “Jersey” in 2019. He also worked as a casting director for the short film “Soul of Woman” in 2020 and as a chief assistant director for the short film “Bali” in 2021. He assisted directors in various capacities for other projects as well.

Regarding acting, he was supposed to make his debut in the shelved film “21: Battle of Saragarhi” in 2016. He appeared in a supporting role in the Punjabi film “Kirdar-e-Sardar” in 2017. In 2022, he played the role of Sukhi in the Netflix original film “Jogi.”
